Instrumental seismicity | The recent and ongoing record of earthquakes that have occurred since the availability of modern-era seismometers (i.e. since the XXth century). Instruments capable of recording temblors have been first deployed since the end of the XIXth century while the evolving technology allowed for finer and clearer identification of seismic events even of very little magnitude. Modern-era seismometric networks allow to recognize earthquake location and magnitude among other parameters.
